UOS and Luxembourg University Enhance Academic Collaboration

Sharjah: The University of Sharjah (UOS) recently hosted a delegation from the University of Luxembourg to enhance academic and research collaboration. The delegation was led by Prof. Katalin Ligeti, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and was welcomed by Prof. Esameldin Ibrahim Agamy, Chancellor of UOS.

According to Emirates News Agency, the primary focus of the meeting was to activate and expand a previously signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Sharjah’s College of Law and Luxembourg’s Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance. This partnership aims to strengthen academic ties through joint student and faculty exchange programmes, collaborative research projects, and shared academic activities.

Prof. Agamy highlighted the potential to enhance cooperation in the fields of law and business administration. He also pointed out opportunities for student exchanges across various graduate programs, including public and private law, European law, space law, media and law, and banking and financial law.

The Luxembourg delegation expressed their strong support for activating the agreement, highlighting the importance of academic visits, guest lectures, joint intensive courses, and research stays at both universities. Administrative staff exchanges were also discussed to facilitate the sharing of expertise in academic and administrative practices.

Key figures from the University of Sharjah, including Prof. Yousef Haik, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Prof. Adnan Sarhan, Dean of the College of Law; Prof. Ahmed Qasim Farah, Deputy Dean; and Dr. Rasha Hattab, Director of the University’s Francophonie Center, attended the meeting. The Luxembourg delegation also included Prof. ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬°lise Poillot, Director of the Master’s Program in European Commercial Law, and Prof. Isabelle Riasto, Director of the Master’s Program in Investment Fund Law.
